In this tutorial we will learn how to draw a pirate ship step by step. In the old days pirates were using ships for travelling, they were the big ships which carried many crew. The interesting thing about those ships was that they were made of wooden material and used sails to carry as much wind as needed to travel fast. We are drawing the pirate ship in just few easy steps that will create the beautiful ship in less time. So let’s have fun drawing it.
Step1: Draw the hull and the deck, start from the bottom, draw the big curve that is hull then move towards right draw a diagonal line, move towards left and draw the other diagonal line. After it towards the left there are again three diagonal lines which will create the top of the ship. Then there will be a deck on the left side that is the top surface of ship starts with the straight line and finishes up by joining the curve of bottom. Keep the reference image to help you draw better.
Step2: Here you have to add some details inside the hull and deck. Draw the portholes that are the circles and the straight line under the portholes. Some diagonal lines on the right and left side of the hull then the rectangle in a deck with three windows.
Step3: Now draw the masts, they are the long poles used for supporting sails and also used to unfurl the flags. For the masts draw the long narrow rectangle which should be a little curved. There will be rope to fix the masts, then create the crow’s nest to look out things, it is located on the upper part of the right pole. Then draw flags on the top of the masts.
Step4: Draw the sail that are the four rectangles or squares on the masts, to catch more and more wind. Then draw the sea which you can draw on the wide space or just the curved lines which also give a glance of waves in the sea. create any suitable background or draw pirates to enhance your creativity.
Step5: Last but not least is to fill in colors, you can use your own color schemes like different shades of brown with your favorite color sails which you like. So we created the pirate ship of ancient time and it was fun to draw it then see it live after filling colors.
