how to draw a dress step by step

In this tutorial I will share  how to draw a dress step by step. So let’s get started. We often draw dresses, sometimes for princes, sometimes for the doll and sometimes to design a new dress for ourselves. There are so many designs available in dresses. In real life it is created with cloth, design ,color scheme and stitching, but for drawing we can draw as many as we want by using our own design and colors. In this tutorial I will share  how to draw a dress in a few steps. So let’s get started.

Step1: Draw the upper portion of the dress, for this you have to start with the upper strips, then draw the curve lines to join these strips. Draw the left curve then the middle two curves and then the right side curve.

Step2: Now draw the second portion  of  the upper part, here we are joining the left side curve with the diagonal line and then the right side curve with the other diagonal line. After this draw the waist belt. Add two curved lines  from breasts  to waist.

Step3: Draw the lower part of the gown , that is, sketch the left side of a big long curve stretch it from waist belt and draw it as long as shown in the reference image, repeat same with the right side and then close both curve lines from the bottom with the help of one more curved line.

Step4: From the middle of the waist draw three long strips that will be narrow from the top. I’m drawing long strips all over the lower part of the gown, if you want you can add some other design or follow the same.

Step5: Now draw two strips on the left side and two on the right side as shown in the reference image. While drawing these long strips you should be careful as they should not make a mess. So after focusing and practicing you will be successful in completing the gown with stripes

Step6: On the waist belt there is a bow, draw the rectangle which is narrow from the bottom then draw turned heart shapes on the right and left side. After it there will be two hanging ribbons which should be narrow from the beneath of the heart shape and curled inside from the bottom.

Step7: You can give any color scheme to your gown and create many designs as well. This will surely enhance your artistic skill in producing new dresses with your own creativity. So explore yourself through your creative ideas and skills. Have fun with your innovations.
