Sunflower is a big yellow head flower. In this tutorial we are going to learn how to draw a sunflower step by step. The whole plant is very useful and used as a food. People eat roasted seeds which are very tasty and have lots of health benefits. The sunflower is known for giving strength , freshness, luck and friendship.
Step1: Draw the circle then draw the petals as shown in the reference image. You have to start it from the left side and finish it to cover the half surrounding of the circle.
Be careful that the half of the circle’s surrounding should be left to cover the petals in next steps.
Step2: Now again draw the more petals as I have highlighted with red in the reference image.
The beauty of the sunflower is quite visible. Still we have to add some more petals to give it a real and natural look.
Step3: Here in this step we will draw a few more petals from left to right behind the first one which I highlighted in the reference image.
Draw it same way as shown in the reference image.
The behind petals show their half looks and it increases the beauty of the sunflower.
Step4: Again we are drawing the behind petals which will be from right to left.
Here our sunflower is completed.
Have you noticed by drawing it carefully how nicely all petals are settled in one circle.
In the next steps we will expand its beauty by adding stalk leaves and another small flower with it.
Step5: On the left side draw a small oval and some petals which cover the half of the oval and its petals will be spreading over some petals of a big sunflower.
you need little patience to draw this step.
Step6: Draw the petals on the empty part of the oval. It seems completed but still some petals will be drawn with it. See how successfully we have done till here.
The next steps will be easy because we will perform the same procedure which we did with a big sunflower like adding some more petals back of the first one.
Step7: Here your art skill will be more fine when you will be working closely to draw the backside petals.
When you practice to draw any sketch, draw it big so you can learn something new easily.
Look at the reference image to draw the behind petals of the small sunflower.
Step8: Now again the behind petals will be added from right to left. Here we have done with the sunflowers. So let’s draw the stalks and leaves of them.
Step9: Draw two v’s for the stalks and then the shape of leaves which will be like half circle from the top and sharp pointed narrow from the bottom.
Here we have successfully done with our beautiful sunflowers.
Step10: Last step is for coloring and to create their background.
Some choose light yellow others can choose orange, it’s up to you to keep any shade of yellow and orange.
The background can be a garden or in a pot or in any artwork which you can make for it.
